Has anyone dealt with loans on prosper?

I just tried it because im in debt for the first time and i need to sell my house to move into a bigger one so i can get a home equity since im trying to sell and my credit is shot. does prosper work? it asks for endorsements from family and friends? that struck me weird because I dont want my famiyl and friends to know im in debt!! they would be so disappointed!! thats the whole reason im trying to get around them. well let me know if anyones had luck with this without endorsements?
