Reappearing of whitish tissue even after removing white tissue EPITHELIUAL DYSPLASIA SEVERE REASONS E?
I answered your other question, but can add to it a bit. First of all, most dysplasias under dentures are not malignant, but it is best to rule that out with a biopsy. SINCE they are mostly a reaction to a poor fitting denture and not malignant, the surgeon may have elected to leave some of the lesion in place rather than risk damage to important structures. I don't know the site of your lesion, but many are along the lower ridge under the denture. There is a nerve that exits the jaw just behind the "corner of the chin." If the lesion was partly covering this area, it might be prudent to leave that part until the biopsy report comes back. If there IS malignancy, the doctor will go back and remove the rest of the lesion, because you wouldn't mind being numb forever if it meant that you got to live. I hope my rambling makes my thoughts clear enough.
